Hola Folks,
It’s been a long time since I wrote to y’all. This has been a weird and difficult year for most of us at varying levels, and processing it all has been a journey that has personally taken me to places I largely avoid.
But of course, it is not all doom and gloom. And hope is a thing with feathers floating through any and every storm. Even when we can’t see it, the light at the end of the tunnel always exists, waiting for us to find our way to it.
I sincerely hope that y’all have either arrived at, or are closer to your own light, closer to hope, happiness and healing that you seek, need and deserve. And if the light seems invisible at the moment, let these words be a reminder that invisible doesn’t always mean absent. And the last few miles are often the most difficult. But the light awaits us all. All we need is to keep our chin up and keep walking, keep pushing, keep fighting. For as long as we do not give up, and not lose our patience, there is hope. There is always hope.
Dealing with grief, healing and catharsis, I wrote a piece which is very close to my heart. I am sharing a link of it below. Please give it a read, if you can. Perhaps, these words will comfort you and help you find your own version of catharsis, as and when you need it.
The Scent of Grief — Of What We Leave, and What We Can’t Leave Behind
That is all for now. I hope to write to y’all more often. It’s a hope not a promise. Promises are hard to keep. But hope has a way of finding its path.
Until then, I leave you with my favorite poem by Mark Strand that never fails to inspire hope in me.
The Good Life
By Mark Strand
You stand at the window.
There is a glass cloud in the shape of a heart.
There are the wind’s sighs that are like caves in your speech.
You are the ghost in the tree outside.
The street is quiet.
The weather, like tomorrow, like your life,
is partially here, partially up in the air.
There is nothing that you can do.
The good life gives no warning.
It weathers the climates of despair
and appears, on foot, unrecognized, offering nothing,
and you are there.
May the Good Life arrive at your doorstep without a warning, and bless you all with its gracious presence!
Until next time
Love
